Christmas Cheer Initiative
The second wave of COVID-19 infections saw the province of Alberta placing restrictions, which had negative impacts on communities and created a financial burden on many families. We jumped into action and with support from our strategic and in-kind partner, Second Harvest, we procured food products for distribution to families in need across Calgary.
Our hardworking team of volunteers packaged Christmas food hampers and distributed them to families within the city of Calgary. We spread cheer to several Calgarians whose livelihoods were restricted, through reduced hours or loss of work due to the pandemic.
To expand our reach, we partnered with several local non-profit organizations such as Centre for Newcomers, Centre Street Church, Inn from the Cold etc. and donated food packages to them to use to prepare meals for the many families within their networks
Additionally, our team of volunteers did door-to-door deliveries to families across the city, just in time for the holiday season.
