COVID-19 Relief Initiative
Despite starting our operations recently, we could not sit back and watch people struggle to meet their basic needs. We resolved to leave a positive impact on our fellow Calgarians lives, no matter how small the gesture. In conjunction with our strategic and community partners, as well as volunteers, we resolved to handing out food hampers to individuals, families and organisations across Calgary.
It was such a rewarding experience as our team of awesome volunteers connected with each of these individuals, families and organizations, bringing a much needed cheer to them in such unprecedented times. We brought smiles to the faces of families during a tough season and helped reduce the burden on individuals to provide food for their families.
With support from Second Harvest Food Rescue, we distributed over 2000 cases of frozen food products, weighing about 18,156 lbs, to about 125 families as well as 8 non-profit organizations across the city! Each organization received about 45 cases of frozen food products to distribute or use to provide hot meals for the needy in their networks. We also drove through Calgary’s downtown areas and distributed about 50 cases of food to members of the homeless community.
